Hoodland Fire District #74 (HFD) is now accepting proposals from qualified contractors to provide Neighborhood Chipping Services as part of our wildfire risk reduction efforts. This project will help residents dispose of branches and brush they have cleared from their properties during FY 2025–2026.

πŸ“Œ Scope of Work

The selected contractor will be responsible for:

  • Chipping vegetative debris from roadside piles and central drop-off locations
  • Hauling and proper disposal of all resulting wood chips
  • Providing all necessary equipment, vehicles, and labor
  • Ensuring safety and traffic control during operations
  • Adhering to materials and pile guidelines provided by HFD

πŸ—“ Chipping will occur throughout Fiscal Year 2025–2026. Specific service dates will be coordinated between the contractor and HFD.

πŸ“ Proposal Requirements

Interested contractors must submit the following:

  1. Cover letter and introduction to the business
  2. Description of proposed work plan, timeline, and disposal methods
  3. Fee structure (hourly or daily), including chipping at roadside and central sites
  4. Relevant experience and qualifications of key personnel
  5. Three professional references
  6. Statement of any conditions or constraints

🧾 Licensing & Insurance

Contractor must carry:

  • Minimum $1,000,000 liability insurance
  • Valid licenses as required by Clackamas County and the State of Oregon
  • Fire suppression equipment on-site
  • Endorsement listing HFD as an additional insured

The contract will be awarded based on:

  • Experience and qualifications
  • Project approach and capacity
  • References and past performance
  • Competitive pricing
  • Willingness to accept standard contract terms

HFD reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to select the proposal that best meets the needs of the District.
