🔥Backyard Debris Burning Closes June 15 🔥

Hoodland Fire District will officially close backyard debris burning for the remainder of fire season starting this Sunday, June 15 due to increasing fire danger.

✅ Still Allowed:
- Recreational campfires in approved fire pits or rings while fire danger remains low
- Cooking fires in BBQs or outdoor fireplaces while fire danger remains low
🚫 Prohibited starting June 15 and in effect for the remainder of fire season
- Backyard yard debris piles
- Burn barrels
Important Notes:
- Our agency does not enforce air-quality complaints related to smoke. However, fire crews will respond if:
🔥 A fire is hostile or threatens to become hostile
🚗 Smoke obscures public roadways
🚑 Smoke results in a medical emergency requiring patient care or transport

🌐ODF Fire Restrictions
Reminder: Fire restrictions do not apply to fireplaces inside your home.
Fire Season is in effect and the Hoodland Fire District is under a Regulated Closure. When fire season goes into effect, some activities in the great outdoors are prone to start fires. In an effort to prevent these fires from starting, the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) imposes restrictions pertaining to public and work related activities.

ODF's LOW FIRE DANGER RESTRICTIONS

- No Open Debris Burning
- Smoking in designated locations, vehicles on improved roads and boats in the water
- Campfires allowed with land owner approval
- Appliances using bottled fuels allowed
- No Fireworks
- No exploding targets, tracer ammunition or sky lanterns
- Equip each power saw with a shovel and fire extinguisher or gallon of water
- Provide a 1-hour fire watch after the use of each power saw
- Cutting, welding or grinding must be done in a clear area with a water supply
- All vehicles must have a shovel and fire extinguisher or gallon of water. ATV's and motorcycles must be equipped with a fire extinguisher
